For a few years I only blogged about my nails on Instagram. I loved it until it became something that consumed a lot of time in my already busy life. For some reason something I had loved so much became something that felt like a chore, I felt this pressure to post and do my nails several times a week which became difficult with my new job and wedding planning. After taking a few months off I decided to get back into the blogger scene however, this time with a variety of my interests. I have always loved fashion as well as makeup, as much as I loved nails (and still do) I wanted to branch out and share a variety of my passions! I thought this would be the perfect first post to relaunch my blog. Here are my top 10 favorite beauty products that I can't live without!
I have been using this product for almost two months now as a moisturizer and a primer. Although it is an oil, it is not heavy and soaks right into the skin. At night after cleaning my face I use 4 drops and in the morning I use 2 before makeup. I also do like to mix it with my foundation for a smoother application. I have seen a dramatic difference in my skin since using this product, it gives such a nice glow to my skin when I feel like it's looking dull. Besides, the gold flakes in it make it feel so luxurious! You can buy this product here.
2. Too Faced- Born This Way Liquid Foundation
Let me start by saying, I am not a huge foundation girl. I never really used it but wanted to try it for even skin tone as well as for the more dramatic makeup looks. I was hesitant to try any foundation since my skin is so sensitive. I went with this one due to the great reviews and I definitely was not disappointed! The coverage is great and does not give that "caked on" effect. You can build it up if you like however, I like a subtle natural look. You can purchase this here or here. I use the Light Beige color.
3. IT Cosmetics- Makeup Brushes
Every makeup lover needs good brushes! I saw this gorgeous set at Ulta around Christmas time and knew I had to have them. Not only are they pretty but the bristles are so soft. I've been using them every day since I got them and I would definitely use other brushes of theirs. They pick up pigment very well and have stayed just as nice as when I got them even with frequent cleanings. You can purchase them here.
4. b.c Cosmetics- Cosmetic Brush Cleaning Mat
Cleaning your makeup brushes can be a chore, however it should be done frequently in order to care for your brushes and so bacteria isn't spread. Just think about if you're breaking out and spreading that all over your face. EW! This tool has made cleaning my brushes a breeze, it suction cups to the sink which makes for easy rinsing. All of the little grooves really get in the brushes to remove makeup, just apply a small amount of your favorite brush cleaner and scrub! I found this little gem at TJ Maxx, however there are many products on the market. The Sigma beauty Mat is one which you can find here or a less expensive alternative here.
5. Too Faced- Cocoa Contour Palette
This is another product I had my eye on for a while and received for Christmas. In the dead of Winter I get quite pale and I could use some light color. I use this to give me a subtle glow but also when I want a more dramatic contoured look. It not only has great pigmentation but also smells like chocolate! Who could say no to that?! I use the light to medium palette, however for summer the darker palette would be great or if you want a more dramatic look. You can find it here or here.
6. Tarte- Rainforest of the Sea Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette
Who doesn't love a good highlighter!? I wanted to buy a highlighter that gave me a nice glow without me looking like a pixi or a lightbulb! This highlighter gives a subtle glow but is also buildable if you are looking for a more dramatic look. You can buy it here.
7. Tarte- Lights, Camera, Lashes!
This a newer product to my favorites list. I have tried quite a few of the top mascaras (Better than Sex, Perversion, and They're Real!) and none of them have impressed me as much as this product. The formula is great, it isn't too thin and isn't too thick. It makes my lashes look longer with just one coat and doesn't clump like others I have tried. You can find it here.
8. Kiss- Lash Couture Faux Minx Lashes
I don't always do false lashes, however they are fun to do for a night out and really give your look something extra. These lashes are super affordable and look like an expensive lash. They have a variety of styles ranging from more dramatic to more natural. The ones above are in the style Gala (more dramatic and full) and Little Black Dress (more natural). As far as lash glue I found that Duo works amazing. The lashes don't budge and stay on for hours! You can find the lashes here.
9. Kat Von D- Everlasting Liquid Lipstick
Kat Von D makes my favorite liquid lipsticks! They are super pigmented and have great staying power. The color selection is amazing (I personally like the neutral shades). Personally I own Bow n Arrow, Lolita, Exorcism, and Sanctuary. Bow n Arrow is my favorite lipstick of all time. You can find them here.
10. Urban Decay- De Slick Makeup Setting Spray
After putting all that work into your makeup you want it to stay! This spray is amazing! My makeup stays all day when I use this spray and keeps it from looking greasy. Just a few sprays and you are set for the day. You can find it here.
Thank you for reading! These are my top 10 favorite beauty products I currently use. If you have any questions about an individual product let me know in the comments, I would be more than happy to answer!
